Coca Cola banned by most of the Country

The most widely drank beverage in the world has been banned by most states in India due to unacceptable levels of toxic chemicals

Rajasthan, the largest state in India recently announced a ban on Coca Cola and Pepsi after a report from the Centre of Science and Environment claimed that the drinks contained unacceptable levels of pesticide. Six Indian states in all now ban the products reports the Organic Matters magazine.

A lawsuit against both companies claimed that the drinks contained high levels of harmful chemicals such as phosphoric acid, aspartame and caffeine. While the soft drinks companies claimed that the soft drinks were safe and that consumer interests were their main concern, the judges disagreed and said that the labels would have to contain a statement saying “dangerous for human consumption” and also reveal the quantity of other residues, if any. (remember these are the same Coke and Pepsi products that are sitting on the shop shelves in Ireland today)

The US has responded by threatening that the ban could ruin the chances of American investment in India.

I was shocked to read the last statement, in other words, “If you don’t consume our American product, that you have found (correctly) to be hazardous to human health, we may stop investing in your country”. Quite a bold statement I thought.

The bottom line - avoid all soft drinks, they are full of sugar, artificial sweetners, chemical stimulants and additives that we are not sure what they do in the body! So they dont belong in it. Choose water or if you really need a sweet drink then opt for a pure fruit juice and mix it half and half with water.

ginkgo biloba
Ginkgo biloba is a remarkable natural medicine with multiple applications. The research on this herb is ongoing and is moving at a rapid pace. I feel Ginkgo has already established its place as a possible front line medicine for treating Dementia and vascular disease, and with the continuous positive results form more current research I feel it will soon be established for use in the treatment and prevention of oxidative stress and possible many more common health problems. A medical herbalist would prescribe Ginkgo for the following: to increase blood flow, tissue oxygenation and tissue nutrition, platelet-activation factor (PAF) antagonism, as an antioxidant i.e. prevention of membrane damage caused by free radicals, enhances memory and cognitive function, especially in the elderly, and its use is associated with an increase in longevity
